MATH 210 GRADING
EXAMS:
Be prepared to present your student-ID at the exams.
- Exam 1: Monday February 13
- Exam 2: Friday March 9
- Exam 3: Wednesday April 18
- Final: Monday May 7, 8:00-9:50 PM EVENING!!!
GRADING:
Grades will be assigned on the basis of 600 points, with the curve
as generous as follows:
- A: 510 B: 450 C: 360 D: 300
- Three 15-question multiple choice exams worth 90 points each.
- Comprehensive 25-question multiple choice final exam worth 150 points
- Recitation Quizzes, 100 points total
- Homework, 50 points total
- Class Attendance, 30 points total.
HOMEWORK:
- Each will be graded out of five points based on EFFORT:
4-5: Essentially complete, 2-3: Partially
attempted, 0-1: Not a serious attempt.
- Three homework scores will be dropped so the remainder is a score out of 50.
- Each question should be stated so that the homework is readable without the text.
- Copying from the solutions manual or merely giving a numeric answer without justification
will receive no credit.
- No late homework will be accepted.
RECITATION QUIZZES: Given weekly.
- There will be 13 recitation quizzes. Each will be graded out of ten points.
- The best ten quiz scores will be counted at the end for a score out of 100.
- No make-up quizzes will be given.
CLASS ATTENDANCE: A student may collect as many as 30 points
by attending lectures.
MAKEUPS: Students who are unable to take an exam because of
documented illness or other unusual circumstances may request a make-up exam.
For reasons other than a medical or other emergency, the instructor's
permission must be obtained prior to the time of the regular exam. Athletes must give
advance written notification of any absence, signed by their coach or other athletics official,
giving specific times of the mandated absence with their name explicitly listed.
